Viano ABS and Steering Issues with Low Tire Pressure Warning

My 2004 Mercedes Viano gasoline engine is showing a low tire pressure warning at 177253 km I checked the pressures and they seem fine The ABS lamp is also lit, the steering wheel is vibrating, and the power steering feels weak Could a valve be defective

That sounds rough I had something similar with my old Renault Megane I got a low tire light and the steering got super heavy It turned out to be a slow air leak Have you checked your tires for nails Are you losing pressure over time

I did a quick visual but didn't spot anything obvious I haven't noticed any significant pressure loss The weird thing is the ABS light and the steering issues Could a slow air leak really cause all that

If the pressures seem okay with a tire gauge and it is not a punctured tire, and you're still getting the ABS light and steering issues, then maybe it's beyond just a simple air leak My Renault just had the steering issue alongside the low tire light The ABS thing makes me think there's something else going on I'd take it to a workshop

I took it to a workshop, and you were right It was a defective valve causing a very slow pressure loss that the system was picking up, triggering weirdness with the ABS and power steering Repair cost me 280€, but at least it's sorted
