Viano auxiliary battery alarm problem

My 2008 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine is showing an auxiliary battery alarm error. The alarm system isn't working. The error memory shows a persistent message. Could the auxiliary battery be discharged? My mechanic estimates a 330€ repair. Has anyone else had this battery problem or alarm issue with their Viano?

I had a similar battery problem with my Vito. The battery signal kept popping up. I'd start with a battery check. Is it the original battery?

The battery alarm was going off randomly, and sometimes it wouldn't start. Replacing the auxiliary battery fixed it. I'd get yours checked by a professional though, to be sure.
