Viano check engine light and stalling at idle fuel sensor fault

My 2016 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine is showing a check engine light and stalling at idle. Mileage is at 265920 km. The error code points to a fuel level sensor fault. Could a defective fuse cause this?

I had a similar issue on my Vito. Fuel sensor faults can be tricky. Before tearing into the car electronics, have you checked the wiring harness for any obvious damage or corrosion near the fuel tank? It's like checking if the power cord is plugged in before blaming the TV.

Wiring harness, you say? Where exactly should I be looking for that?

Yes, start by inspecting the wiring that connects to the fuel level sensor, usually accessible near the fuel tank. Follow the wires back as far as you can easily see. If all looks good, best take it to a workshop for proper diagnostics. They'll have the tools to pinpoint the issue.

Thanks for the tip. Turns out it was just a blown fuse! Replaced it for 52€ and the problem is solved. Car dashboard looks normal again and engine runs smoothly. Appreciate the help!
