Viano climate control panel issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine has a non-functional climate control panel, weak heat output, and a non-operational AC. The issue could stem from a faulty fuse, climate control unit, or problematic wiring harness and connectors. After checking the wiring harness and connectors, a bad electrical connector was identified and repaired at a workshop, resolving the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say check the wiring harness, are there specific points I should be looking at first? Any common failure spots or connectors that are known to cause trouble? I'm trying to avoid a complete dashboard disassembly if possible.

Yes, on mine, it was a corroded connector behind the glove box, where the wiring harness connects to the climate control unit. I'd still suggest getting it checked by a workshop if you can't find anything yourself. It's the only way to be sure.

Thanks! I checked the wiring harness and electrical connectors behind the glove box, but I couldn't find any obvious corrosion, so I took it to a workshop. There was a bad electrical connector on the wiring harness. Repair cost was 95€. Problem solved!

I had a similar issue with my Vito. Check the wiring harness and electrical connectors that feed the climate control unit. The climate control unit could be faulty, but check the wiring first.
