Viano Diesel Seat Heater Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Mercedes Viano diesel has a seat heater issue, with no heat and an error code indicating a problem in the seat heating circuit. The initial suspicion is a faulty heating mat, though a thermal sensor issue is also considered. Suggestions include checking the fuse and connections, but ultimately, a technician confirms the problem is indeed a faulty heating mat, which is then repaired.

It's just the driver's seat. Do you know which fuse it is in the fuse box? I want to check that before replacing the seat cushion or looking at the thermal sensor.

It's just the driver's seat. I am not certain about the exact fuse location in your Viano, but the manual should show it, or maybe a diagram near the fuse box itself. But with an error code, maybe the fuse is fine and it really is the mat or something else in the seat. If you are not experienced with automotive repair, it might be best to get it checked out by a workshop, just in case. Messing with the seat heater could be more involved than it seems.

I took it to a technician. They said it was a faulty heating mat, like I thought. The repair cost 390€, including parts and labor. Thanks for the help.

I haven't had that exact problem, but seat heaters can be tricky. Is it both seats or just the one? Maybe check the fuse first? It could also be a bad connection somewhere. I'm just guessing, but it might be worth a look before you assume it's the heating mat itself.
