Viano Eco Mode Problems

My 2011 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine is driving me nuts The Eco mode just refuses to work The engine keeps stalling, and I get this annoying warning light on the speedometer I checked the error memory, and it shows something related to the start-stop system It feels like the starter motor is struggling sometimes too I'm guessing it's a battery issue, maybe heavily discharged or even defective Anyone else had this problem

I must express my empathy regarding the challenges you are encountering with your Viano I, too, have experienced similar tribulations with my own Viano May I inquire as to whether you have subjected the battery to a comprehensive load test Furthermore, has the battery's state of charge been meticulously assessed The automatic restart function relies heavily on a healthy electrical system

Thanks for the reply A load test, you say I haven't done that specifically I checked the voltage, and it seemed okay, but I guess that doesn't tell the whole story How did you finally solve your start-stop issue Was it definitely the battery, or could it be something else entirely

A mere voltage assessment often proves insufficient in diagnosing such intricate matters In my particular instance, the tribulations were indeed attributable to a compromised battery However, given the complexities inherent in modern automotive engineering, it is prudent to consult with a qualified technician I would strongly advise scheduling an appointment with a reputable workshop for a thorough diagnostic evaluation

You were spot on I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was a faulty battery Cost me about 290€ for a new one and installation The Eco mode is now working perfectly, and no more engine stalling Thanks again for the advice
