Viano Terminal Ignition Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine was experiencing a "Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted" error, preventing the car from starting. The issue was suspected to be related to a power supply problem, possibly due to a faulty cable, plug connection, relay switch, or circuit break. After considering various potential causes and suggestions, the owner took the vehicle to a workshop, where a corroded connector on the ignition relay was identified and fixed, resolving the issue.

Fuses seem fine checked those first Ignition switch seems okay but how do you really know A multimeter is a good shout where exactly should I be sticking the probes Im guessing around the relay switch area

Confirming that the integrity of the ignition switch can be challenging without specialized diagnostic equipment Given the uncertainties you have expressed and considering the potential for further complications it is my considered recommendation that you seek the expertise of a qualified automotive technician Attempting to diagnose and rectify such issues without adequate knowledge and tools may inadvertently exacerbate the situation While I understand the desire to resolve this matter independently it may ultimately prove more efficacious and indeed more economical to entrust this task to professionals

Cheers Bit the bullet and took it to a workshop Turns out it was a corroded connector on the ignition relay New connector and a bit of cleaning later and shes purring like a kitten again Cost me 95€ but at least its sorted Thanks for the nudge in the right direction

I have experienced similar issues with my Mercedes Viano A fault related to Terminal 15 can indeed prevent the engine from starting While a defective cable or plug connection is a plausible cause it is imperative to consider other potential factors that could contribute to this problem Have you conducted a thorough inspection of the relevant fuses Furthermore it may be prudent to examine the ignition switch itself as malfunctions within this component can also manifest as a Terminal 15 interruption Do you have access to a multimeter to measure voltage at various points in the circuit
