Vios ABS Speed Signal Fault

Hey, I've got a 2017 Toyota Vios with a gasoline engine and 136348 km on it. I'm getting an intermittent ABS lamp and traction problems. Seems to be a speed signal fault. Could a faulty ECM mess with the speedometer and trigger the ABS? Any ideas?

I had something similar with my old Opel Astra. ABS light and traction control going nuts. Turned out to be a bad ABS control unit. Does the Vios use a similar system? Check the wiring harness and connections to the ABS module too, just in case it's something simple.

Interesting! Any specific codes or tests that helped find the problem? And did your speedometer act up at all? Trying to get as much info as I can before I start taking things apart.

The shop mentioned a CAN bus error related to the speed sensor signal. Speedometer was fine, but the ABS module was throwing errors. I took it to a shop. They swapped the ABS control unit, and it fixed everything.

Thanks for sharing. My mechanic says it's a defective control unit, like you said. Repair is around 1000€, including parts and labor. Appreciate the help!
