Vios central locking failure

Hi, I'm having an issue with my 2010 Toyota Vios (gasoline engine). The central locking has completely stopped working. I can no longer lock or unlock the doors using the key fob or the button inside. The error memory also shows an error. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause this?

Hey, I had something similar happen on my Vios. Was it all of a sudden, or did it start gradually? Did you check the fuse box? It might be a blown fuse related to the car locks or the security system. Is it possible that it could be related to the car alarm?

Thanks for the quick reply! It happened suddenly, not gradually. I did check the fuses in the fuse box – all seem fine. Any particular fuse I should double-check related to the key fob?

Yeah, mine was sudden too. It sounds like you've done the basic checks. Honestly, while it could be a loose connection somewhere, tracing electrical faults can be a pain. I ended up just taking mine to a workshop, and they sorted it out pretty quickly. It may cost around 95€.

Appreciate the help! Sounds like I'm at that point too. Taking it to a shop is probably the best bet. I’ll let you know what they find.
