Vios injection problem
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Toyota Vios with a gasoline engine was experiencing higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling at idle, and smoke during acceleration, suspected to be due to an injection system issue. After checking visible air hoses, which appeared fine, it was suggested to inspect cable and plug connections to the injection components. A visit to the mechanic confirmed a defective cable connection in the injection system, which was repaired, resolving the issues.

Can you be more specific? Which cable and plug connections should I be focusing on?

Unfortunately, no, I can't be more specific with the cable and plug connections as I don't recall which one was defective. Your best bet is to visit the workshop. In my case, the mechanic was able to pinpoint the defective connection and fix it easily. I hope you get to solve the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. Took it to a mechanic, and you were right. It was a defective cable connection in the injection system. Repair cost me 95€. Runs like new now.

I also own a Vios, though a different model year. Those symptoms sound very familiar. Did you check the cable and plug connections to the injection components? A defective connection can cause those issues.
