Vios oil pressure warning lamp
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Toyota Vios with 121,200 km is experiencing an oil pressure warning light and loud mechanical noises. Despite the oil level being adequate, the issue may stem from a faulty oil pressure sensor or a more severe problem like a defective oil pump. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop to prevent potential engine damage, as a similar case was resolved by replacing the oil pump.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick reply! I don't have an oil pressure gauge, unfortunately. I'm using the recommended oil, a 5W-30 synthetic blend. How did you resolve the issue? Was it indeed the oil pump?

Yes, it turned out to be a defective oil pump. The mechanical noises were probably the engine bearings not getting enough lubrication. I'd strongly suggest taking it to a workshop. Continuing to drive it like that might cause major engine damage.

Thanks a lot for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were right - it was the oil pump. The repair cost me 755€. Hopefully, that's the end of it, but thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Vios. Same symptoms – oil pressure light and engine noises. Have you checked the oil pressure gauge, if your car has one? Could also be the oil pump. What kind of oil are you using?
