Vios remote locking and starting issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2013 Toyota Vios (gasoline engine). It's got about 32k km on it. I'm getting an error stored in the memory, and the remote unlocking/locking isn't working right. Also, sometimes I can't start the engine unless the key is actually in the ignition. I've read it might be related to the bumper antenna. Anyone else run into something like this?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra. Check the antenna cable and plug connection; those can be pretty sensitive. Could be a defective connection.

Yeah, the wire running to the bumper antenna itself. On my Astra, it was corroded. If it's that, a new antenna fixed it. But honestly, it's probably worth a quick check at a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly.
