Yeah, checked the tail lights as well, all bulbs are fine. You had the exact same symptoms? Did the error code point to anything specific?

The symptoms were spot on, yeah. The error code was vague, something about 'lighting circuit malfunction'. I ended up taking it to a workshop since I lack the proper diagnostic tools. They narrowed it down to a bad connection in the switch harness. Cost me 95€ to fix.

Thanks for the info. I'll take it to a reliable shop and have them check the harness connection like you said. Hopefully, that's the culprit and it's a quick fix.

Sounds familiar. I have a Volt too and had a similar gremlin in the lighting. Did you check the tail lights specifically? Sometimes a short there can cascade weirdness back to the switch.
