When you say 'faulty actuator,' are you talking about the electric actuator that directly controls the fuel flap locking mechanism, or something else? Did your BMW have other issues besides the fuel flap?

Yes, I'm talking about the electric actuator linked directly to the fuel door. My BMW didn't have any other issues, just the fuel door. The Volvo might be more complex. It might be best to take it to a shop. It might be a more complex issue than just the actuator itself.

I consulted with a workshop, and they confirmed a malfunctioning electric actuator for the fuel flap, and the linkage was indeed defective. The repair was 210€, including parts and labor. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. Error messages and fuel door issues sound familiar. It turned out to be a faulty actuator, a small electric motor that controls movement. That might be the problem. If you hear a clicking sound near the fuel door when you try to open it, that could be the actuator trying to work.
