Volvo C70 Preheating Lamp Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Volvo C70 with a diesel engine is experiencing an issue where the preheating lamp remains on, and an error is recorded in the memory. The problem is suspected to be caused by defective glow plugs, which can lead to symptoms such as hard starting in cold conditions and rough idling. The suggested solution is to have the glow plugs checked and potentially replaced at a workshop.

Hmm, it does take a little longer to start when it's cold. Fuel efficiency seems normal, but I haven't really checked that closely. Misfires... maybe a little rough at idle? So, you really think it's just the glow plugs?

Yup, glow plugs can cause those exact symptoms. Rough idle, hard starts, the whole shebang. It's probably best to go to the workshop. My repair cost was about 440€, and glow plugs were the reason.

Thanks for that info. That confirms my suspicions. Already booked it in at the garage, so hopefully, it's a quick fix. Cheers!

Sounds familiar! Had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 308. Glow plug problems can be a pain. Is the car struggling to start, especially when it's cold? Did you notice any difference in fuel efficiency maybe or even engine misfires?
