Volvo S80 AC Unit Failure

Hi, I'm having AC unit issues with my 2003 Volvo S80 (gasoline engine). Mileage is at 86889 km. The AC stopped cooling, and now it won't even switch on. I'm also seeing a warning light on the speedometer and an error stored in the memory. Any ideas? I'm suspecting the air conditioning control unit might be defective.

Summary of the thread

The 2003 Volvo S80 is experiencing an AC unit failure, where the system has stopped cooling and won't switch on, accompanied by a warning light and an error code. Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my S80 a while back. The AC just quit. Did you check the refrigerant level or any of the fuses?

I checked the fuses, they seem fine. I don't have the equipment to check the refrigerant level. When you had the same issue, did it throw any error codes or warning lights?

Yeah, it threw some codes related to the AC compressor. Honestly, after messing around for a bit, I just took it to a workshop. Turned out the AC control unit was faulty. Saved myself a headache.

Thanks for the insight! I suspected it might be the control unit. I'll take it to a workshop to get it checked out properly. The repair cost will probably be around 980€.
