Volvo S80 Fuel Composition Issue

My 2004 Volvo S80 with a gasoline engine is showing signs of incorrect fuel composition. The check engine light is on and it stalls at idle. Diagnostics show a fuel-related error. I've checked for contamination, but see nothing. Could a defective cable or plug be the cause? It has 114667 km on the odometer.

I haven't changed my refueling habits or used additives. Could you share more about your experience? Were there other symptoms? What steps did you take to fix it?

I'm pretty sure it was bad gas, or something got in the tank. I didn't notice anything else. I took it straight to the shop because I was worried about making it worse. They checked the fuel lines and sensors, and cleared the code. If you're not seeing anything obvious, get a professional to look.
