Volvo V40 AC Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Volvo V40 with a gasoline engine has an AC system that isn't functioning, as it doesn't switch on, resulting in no cooling. Initial checks of the fuses have been done. Possible causes include a faulty blower motor, a malfunctioning AC relay, or incorrect temperature control settings. Further diagnostics, such as checking the AC system's pressures and valves, are suggested, with a recommendation to consult a technician for a thorough assessment and repair.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check the blower motor and AC relay. Is there a way to test the temperature control settings, other than adjusting the dial?

Given the symptoms, it seems the fault is in the AC system. You could do more diagnostics like checking pressures, but given the age and mileage, have a technician check the valves in the AC system. A defect there could explain it. Expect about 1000€ for repair.

Thanks for the insights. Given the complexity, I'll take it to a workshop for assessment and repair. Thanks again for confirming my suspicions and the cost estimate.

Interesting. Before assuming it's a major fault, is the blower motor working? A bad blower motor can cause these symptoms. Also, have you checked the AC relay? What about the temperature control settings – are they adjusted correctly?
