Volvo V60 Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Volvo V60 is experiencing a mixture preparation error, leading to rough running, power loss, and stalling. Initial checks on the intake manifold and throttle body did not resolve the issue. A faulty oxygen sensor is considered a potential cause. Another owner with similar symptoms suggests checking the fuel injectors, as a malfunctioning injector can cause a rich mixture and engine issues. A professional diagnostic and injector flow test are recommended to identify and resolve the problem efficiently.

Injectors, huh? That's interesting. How did you pinpoint that as the issue? And were all of yours bad, or just one or two? I'm trying to avoid just throwing parts at it, but this is driving me nuts.

Well, the error codes pointed towards fuel trim issues, and after swapping out a couple of spark plugs I still had the issue. So, I took it to a workshop and they did a proper diagnostic, including flow testing the injectors. Turns out one was spraying erratically. They recommended replacing them all to avoid future problems. Just get it checked, you may save some time and money.

Okay, injectors it is. Thanks for the tip! I'll get it to the shop and have them take a look. I was hoping it was something simple, but I suspected it was something deeper. Ended up costing me 515€, but at least it's running smoothly again. Much appreciated!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my V60 a while back. Reduced power, rough running, the whole shebang. Did you check your injectors? That's where my problem was. I was getting a rich mixture and the engine was not happy about it.
