Volvo V70 Headlight Range Control Fault

Hoping someone can help me out with my 2016 Volvo V70, gasoline engine. I'm getting a 'Headlight Range Control Fault' error constantly. The warning light is on. The low beams seem to be shining way too low, sometimes way too high. It's like they can't find the right level. Anyone experienced something similar? Could it be a fuse? Or maybe the headlight switch?

Sounds familiar! I had the exact same thing happen in my old Opel Astra a few years back. Is the error constantly displayed, or does it come and go?

Good to know I'm not alone! The error is constantly displayed. Always there when I start the car. What was the issue with your Astra in the end?

Yep, mine was the same: permanent error. Turned out to be a defective servomotor inside the headlight unit itself. If it's constant, best visit a workshop; they'll figure it out quick.

Thanks for the help! I had it checked at the garage. Turned out to be a defective servomotor, just like you said. Cost me 1040€ to get it fixed, but at least the error is gone and the headlights are working correctly again.
