The cooling fan seems to run more frequently. Coolant levels are normal. Was the defective map thermostat the culprit for you? Any unusual behavior from the temperature sensor?

Yep, in my case, it was the thermostat housing. The temperature sensor gave weird readings, which threw me off for a bit. Considering your symptoms and mileage, it’s likely. I'd recommend a workshop visit for proper diagnosis. Replacing the thermostat isn't terribly difficult, but requires some finesse. Expect to pay around 350€ for the repair.

I had a similar issue with my V70 (different year). Overheating and slow warm-up sounds familiar. I was scratching my head trying to figure it out. Does your cooling fan run constantly, even when the engine is cold? Have you checked the coolant level?
