Hey there! Appreciate you sharing your ordeal, surely gives me a rough idea of what I might be up against. I didn't even consider the possibility of a cable corrosion issue. Looks like I'll need to give my ol' V90 a closer look. Out of curiosity, do you recall how much that whole repair operation set you back? Also, have you had any other issues with your S90 since then? Cheers!

Hey, no worries! Glad I could share my two cents. As for the cost, the total bill came out to be 155€. That was for sorting out both the water valve and the cable connection issue. I can tell ya, I let out a sigh of relief when I heard it wasn't gonna cost me an arm and a leg. As for other issues since the fix, thankfully, it's been all smooth sailing. No further trouble to report after the mechanic visit. All the heating and cooling woes were sorted out, and my mirrors are defrosting just fine now. Your V90 should be back to normal once these issues are addressed. Good luck with it!

Hey, what a relief to hear it didn't hit the pocket too hard, and yours is running well since. Gives me a bit of confidence heading into the mechanic shop. Also, 155€ sounds fairly reasonable keeping in mind how tricky car issues can get. I'll also make sure to check if there are any hidden gremlins like cable corruptions involved too. Great to learn from your experience, much appreciated! Fingers crossed, hoping to get my classic V90 back to her glory days soon. Cheers!

Howdy! Funny you mention this, I had a similar issue with my 2019 Volvo S90 a couple of months back. Same deal, poor heating, cooling, and mirrors not defrosting either. Like you, I suspected it was a fault with the cooling circuit water valve but there was more to it. I also had an issue with the cable connection. You see, there was a corrosion problem going on, a nasty case of it. This bummer was messing with the temperature controlling system. Once the technicians at my local garage got a peek under the hood, they discovered the issue. They ended up replacing the damaged cables. So, while you might be onto something with the water valve theory, don't rule out cable issues either. And yep, it was rather serious but not like apocalypse serious. Thankfully, everything's working perfectly now. Best of luck! Hope it's a simple fix for your V90 too.
