Volvo XC70 Uneven Engine Running

Hi, I've got a 2010 Volvo XC70 with a gasoline engine and about 173740 km on the clock. Lately, the engine's been running unevenly. The check engine light comes on, and there's an error stored. It also feels like it's jerking when accelerating. Could this be a fuel pump issue, or maybe spark plugs? I've also heard rough idle can sometimes point to the timing belt. Any ideas?

Hey, I had something similar with my XC70. Have you checked for exhaust leaks? Even small ones can cause misfires and rough running. Misfires mean that one or more of your engine's cylinders isn't firing correctly. It could be that.

Exhaust leaks, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where would I even start looking for something like that?

Yeah, that's what it was for me. To be honest, I just took it to a workshop. They found it pretty quickly. It's hard to spot them yourself without the right equipment. Might save you some time.

Thanks! I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out there was a leak in the exhaust system, just like you said. Repair cost me 265€. Runs much better now!
