Volvo XC70 Uneven Engine Running
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Volvo XC70 was experiencing uneven engine running, a check engine light, and jerking during acceleration. Possible causes considered were issues with the fuel pump, spark plugs, or timing belt. Another suggestion was to check for exhaust leaks, which can cause misfires and rough running. Upon inspection at a workshop, an exhaust leak was identified and repaired, resolving the issue.

Exhaust leaks, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where would I even start looking for something like that?

Yeah, that's what it was for me. To be honest, I just took it to a workshop. They found it pretty quickly. It's hard to spot them yourself without the right equipment. Might save you some time.

Thanks! I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out there was a leak in the exhaust system, just like you said. Repair cost me 265€. Runs much better now!

Hey, I had something similar with my XC70. Have you checked for exhaust leaks? Even small ones can cause misfires and rough running. Misfires mean that one or more of your engine's cylinders isn't firing correctly. It could be that.
