Had my last service at 115000km and the injector issue was successfully fixed. The mechanic also checked the air-fuel ratio and replaced all spark plugs as a preventive measure. Running beautifully now with proper fuel economy restored and no check engine light. The initial diagnosis of a faulty injector was spot on. Total repair cost was 580€ but worth every cent considering the improved performance and peace of mind. Would definitely recommend getting a full diagnostic scan if anyone encounters similar symptoms.

Glad to hear your Caddy is running smoothly again. My T-Cross had almost identical symptoms and repair needs. The faulty injector was definitely the core issue in both our cases, affecting both fuel economy and engine performance. Since you mentioned the spark plug replacement, that was actually a smart preventive move by your mechanic. In my case, I had them replaced about 6 months after the injector fix when I noticed slight hesitation during cold starts. The air-fuel ratio check is crucial, when my injector was bad, it was throwing off the mixture enough to risk damage to the catalytic converter if left unchecked. Your total repair cost was close to mine, just 65€ more, which makes sense with the added spark plug replacement. One tip from my experience: keep monitoring your fuel consumption for the next few weeks. After my repair, it took about 2-3 tanks of fuel for the engine management system to fully adapt and optimize the air-fuel mixture.

Thanks for sharing those details about the injector repair on your T-Cross. Makes sense the repair costs were similar. Good to know about monitoring fuel consumption during the adaptation period, will definitely keep track of that. Also appreciate the tip about the spark plugs. Since all were replaced during this repair along with the faulty injector, I should be set for a while. The mechanic mentioned the intake manifold was inspected and clean, so that eliminates another potential trouble spot. The air-fuel ratio is now perfect according to the scan data, and fuel consumption has already dropped noticeably on my first tank after the repair. Makes a huge difference having the fuel injectors working properly again. For anyone searching with similar symptoms, get it checked early. Running with bad injectors too long risks damaging other components, especially the catalytic converter. The diagnostic scan costs are worth it for peace of mind and catching issues before they become more expensive repairs.

I dealt with very similar symptoms on my VW T-Cross 2019 with the 1.0 TSI engine. With some mechanical experience from basic maintenance, I recognized the issues right away. The symptoms matched yours exactly, rough running, power loss, and the check engine light indicating a rich mixture condition. The oxygen sensor readings were all over the place according to the diagnostic scan. After taking it to my regular workshop, they found one of the fuel injectors was defective, causing inconsistent spray patterns. This explained the rough running and rich fuel mixture. The repair involved: Full diagnostic scan, Fuel injector removal and testing, Replacement of the faulty injector, System pressure testing, Reset of the engine management system Total cost came to 515€ including parts and labor. The car has been running perfectly since the repair, with normal fuel consumption restored. To better assist with your case, could you share: Current mileage? Any recent maintenance performed? Are there any other warning lights besides check engine? Does the problem get worse when the engine is cold or warm? These details would help determine if your symptoms point to the same root cause.
