I own a VW Crafter (2018, 123000 km, Diesel) and I'm experiencing the following problem: The standard radio in my 2018 Crafter 30/35 works normally until the volume is raised above 50/100. At this point, the music or speech starts to fluctuate, meaning the sound gets louder and quieter. I think the car has external noise detection, which increases the volume as tire noise increases. Strangely, when the sound starts to fluctuate as the volume is increased, pressing the gas pedal lowers the sound, and releasing the gas pedal increases it. Could this possibly be a microphone fault, and how could I identify the effect of external tire noise? Has anyone else had similar experiences or solutions to this problem?

Check if your Crafter has a feature called "Speed Dependent Volume Control" or a similar setting in the radio menu. This feature adjusts the volume based on the speed and noise levels. Try disabling it to see if it resolves the issue. If the problem persists, it might be worth inspecting the wiring and connections to the radio for any loose or damaged parts. Let me know how it goes or if you have further questions!
