Thanks for sharing those details about the control module repair. My Lupo had nearly identical symptoms last spring, and the vehicle suspension behaved exactly the same way. Really helpful to know it was likely the same root cause. Quick question, do you remember roughly what you paid for the full repair? Also curious if your car handling has stayed stable since the fix or if you noticed any other suspension-related problems popping up?

Great to hear back. After taking the Lupo to a mechanic last week, they found a loose cable connection to the damping control module, exactly what I suspected based on the symptoms. The fix was straightforward and cost 95€ for repairing the faulty connection. The car handling has been perfect since the repair, with no suspension failure issues recurring. The bouncy ride and poor damping control completely resolved once they fixed the electrical connection. The warning light cleared immediately and hasnt returned. The mechanic confirmed keeping the electronic damping system properly maintained is crucial for both ride comfort and safety. The original suspension components were actually in good shape, it was purely an electrical fault causing the erratic behavior. My advice would be to get it checked soon, as driving with compromised shock absorber function can lead to additional wear. The repair cost should be similar if its the same issue with the control module connections.

Thanks everyone for the helpful responses! Just wanted to close the loop on my suspension issue. Took the Lupo to a local shop last Thursday. The mechanic found corroded wiring at the damping control module, just as suggested. The entire suspension system check and repair came to 120€, slightly more than expected but worth it for safe vehicle handling. The suspension tuning is now perfect and the bouncy ride is completely gone. No more warning lights or error codes showing up. Really glad I got it sorted quickly before any serious suspension failure could develop. The mechanic demonstrated how the faulty connections were affecting the electronic damping control. Good learning experience overall and much better service than my previous repair visits. The car rides like new again.

Had the same suspension issues on my VW Polo from 2004. The vehicle suspension started feeling unusually soft and bouncy, especially over bumps. The car handling was severely compromised, making it unsafe for daily driving. The problem turned out to be a faulty shock absorber control module with corroded wiring connections. When the control module fails, the car damping system cannot adjust properly, causing excessive bounce and poor stability. The scan revealed similar error codes related to the electronic damping control. The repair involved replacing the control module and rewiring the connections to the shock absorbers. This was a serious issue affecting vehicle safety and required immediate attention. The car suspension returned to normal function after fixing the electrical connections and recalibrating the system. A complete suspension tuning was also necessary to ensure proper functionality. The mechanic checked all four shock absorbers and their electronic components. Left unfixed, this issue can lead to premature wear of suspension components and unsafe driving conditions. After repairs, the ride comfort improved significantly and the warning light disappeared. Regular maintenance helps prevent such issues from developing.
