Thanks for sharing your repair experience. This really helps since I faced nearly identical problems with my Scirocco. Got those unusual warning lights and errors with the adaptive cruise acting up too. My sensor had similar contamination issues causing all those electronic issues to pop up. Quick question though, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the complete fix? Also curious if you have experienced any sensor failure or related problems since the repair? I want to budget properly and know what to expect long term before heading to the shop with my car. It would really help to know if this is likely a one-time fix or something that might need regular attention.

After getting my Golf GTI fixed, everything has worked perfectly with no recurring electronic issues. The radar sensor repair has completely resolved those unusual warning lights and driving assistance errors I mentioned earlier. For the costs, I only paid 45€ for the professional cleaning of the contaminated sensor. This was much cheaper than I initially feared, since no parts needed replacement. The automotive sensors just required proper cleaning and recalibration to restore full functionality of all safety systems. Since that repair, I make sure to regularly clean the front badge area where the radar sensor is located, especially during winter when road salt and debris build up. This preventive maintenance has kept all driving assistance features working reliably. Based on my experience, once properly cleaned and calibrated, these sensors tend to remain stable unless they get dirty again. The symptoms you describe sound identical to what I experienced, so you will likely face similar repair costs if it is just contamination causing your sensor issues.

Thanks for the detailed responses. I finally got my Scirocco fixed last week and wanted to share my experience to close this thread. The mechanic confirmed it was indeed a radar sensor issue causing all those unusual errors. Similar to what others mentioned, road debris and salt had built up behind the front badge, interfering with the sensor readings. Total repair came to 65€ which covered: Deep cleaning of the radar sensor unit, System recalibration, Full diagnostic scan All warning lights are now off and the adaptive cruise works perfectly again. No more unusual sensor failure messages or safety system errors. The mechanic showed me how to properly clean around the sensor area to prevent future issues. Really glad I asked here first, saved me from worrying about a major electronic problem. Will definitely keep up with regular sensor cleaning as suggested to avoid these issues coming back.

Had a similar situation with my VW Golf GTI (2013, gasoline). The collision avoidance system started triggering false alerts, followed by multiple warning lights and sensor failure messages on the dashboard. The radar sensor behind the front badge was heavily contaminated with road debris and salt buildup. These sensors are quite sensitive to environmental conditions. A professional diagnosis confirmed the sensor malfunction was causing cascading errors across multiple driving assistance systems. The fix required: Complete removal and cleaning of the radar sensor unit, Recalibration of the sensor system, Software update for the sensor control module, Testing of all connected safety systems This was not a serious mechanical issue but rather a maintenance task. The sensor cleaning and recalibration restored all functions to normal. Regular cleaning of these sensors is now part of my maintenance routine to prevent future issues. The symptoms match your case, multiple system failures and warning lights typically point to a radar sensor problem rather than individual system malfunctions. Getting it checked early prevents potential false emergency braking or other safety system mishaps.
