Last service was at 110000km and everything else worked fine until now. Thanks for the detailed response. The massage setting actually worked intermittently for about a week before failing completely. Regular seat adjustments still work perfectly fine. The error code is B128900. No unusual sounds from the seat motor before it stopped. The massage feature just wont activate at all now. Car upholstery and seat cushions feel normal, so hoping its just an electrical issue rather than a complete massage chair failure. Will get it checked at the workshop next week.

Thanks for those additional details. That matches exactly what happened with my T-Roc before the complete failure. The intermittent function is a classic sign of electrical connection issues, and since your regular seat adjustments still work, this further points to a wiring or connector problem rather than a complete massage chair system failure. The error code B128900 typically indicates a communication fault between the seat control module and the massage components. In my case, the workshop found corroded pins in the main connector under the seat, where moisture had gotten in over time. Since your car upholstery and seat functions are otherwise normal, and the massage setting worked intermittently before failing, I strongly suspect youre dealing with the same connection issue I had. The seat motor itself is likely fine. A few tips before the workshop visit: Ask them to check the wiring harness connectors first, Request inspection of the massage seat switch connections, Have them verify the voltage at the massage motor The repair should be relatively straightforward if its similar to my case. My total repair time was about 2 hours, mainly for accessing and fixing the connections.

Thanks for the input. Having heard about similar issues, I feel more confident about getting this fixed. The symptoms seem very similar, especially the intermittent function before total failure. Good to know the error code B128900 points to electrical connections rather than the massage chair system itself. Based on your experiences, sounds like I should focus the workshop on checking those wiring connections and the seat switch first. The fact that regular seat adjustments still work normally definitely makes me hopeful its just an electrical issue or switch failure rather than anything major with the massage components. Will book it in for next week and ask them to specifically inspect the wiring harness and connectors under the seat. Really helpful to know what to expect and discuss with the workshop. I hope mine turns out to be a straightforward wire connection fix like your cases rather than needing the entire automotive seats system replaced. Will update once I get it looked at. Thanks again for sharing the detailed repair experiences.

A similar issue happened with my 2019 VW T-Roc. My experience with car electronics is moderate, having dealt with various electrical issues over the years. The massage seat function also stopped working completely and showed an error code. Initially thought the massage chair motor was gone, but the workshop diagnosed it as a damaged wire harness connector under the seat. The connection had worked loose over time and some pins were corroded. The repair involved cleaning the connector pins and replacing the damaged wiring section. The switch failure symptoms were identical to yours, no response when pressing the massage controls. Total repair cost was 95€ including diagnostic time. To better assist with your specific case, could you share: Have you noticed any intermittent function before complete failure? Does the regular seat adjustment still work normally? Which error code is stored in the system? Are there any unusual noises from the seat motors? This kind of automotive seats issue is usually related to either electrical connections or switch problems rather than the actual massage mechanisms. A proper diagnostic scan should quickly identify if its a simple switch failure or something more complex.
