Thanks for sharing your experience with the T-Roc. I dealt with a similar window motor problem in my Taigo last winter. After trying the reset procedure you mentioned, I ended up needing a full window motor replacement on the driver side. The door panel had to be removed to access the faulty components. Did the electrical connection fix continue working well for you? Just curious about the final cost of your repair and if any other window switch issues came up since then? Always helpful to know what to expect long-term with these car electronics problems.

Glad to provide an update on my T-Roc window situation. The electrical connection fix worked great initially, but a few months later the power window system started acting up again. The window regulator initialization kept failing, so I took it back to a certified VW mechanic. Turns out the root cause was actually a weak vehicle battery causing voltage drops, which interfered with the window control module. After replacing the battery for 290€ and doing another calibration, all windows have been working flawlessly for over a year now. The door panel didnt even need removal this time. The mechanic explained that modern car window systems are quite sensitive to electrical system health. When the battery starts failing, window regulators are often among the first components to show strange behavior. The initial connection cleaning was just masking the real issue. Looking back, wish I had checked the battery first before exploring other fixes. Could have saved some time with the window troubleshooting. At least the final repair cost was less than a full window motor replacement like in your case.

I wanted to give a final update on my Taigo window situation. After seeing your replies, I took it to a certified mechanic who ran a thorough diagnostic. The window regulator was completely shot and needed replacement. Total repair came to 450€ including labor. The mechanic showed me the old unit, the motor had seized up from what looked like water damage. They had to remove the entire door panel to access the power window assembly. While not cheap, at least the fix was straightforward and the new window motor works perfectly now. Good call about checking the battery too. They tested mine during the repair and confirmed it was still strong, so that wasnt the culprit in my case. The car has been running great since the fix, with no more window switch issues. Really appreciate the advice, helped me know what to expect going into the repair shop this time around.

Had a similar issue with my 2018 VW T-Roc TSI. After replacing the battery, the power window system needed recalibration. The window controls stopped responding and showed errors on diagnostics, just like your case. Most VW models require a window reset procedure after battery disconnection or replacement. This is a safety feature built into the car electronics. The fix involved a specific sequence: Turn ignition to ON position, Press and hold window switch down until fully open, Release switch, then pull up and hold for 5 seconds, Repeat for each window If the reset procedure does not resolve it, there could be issues with the window motor or regulator. When scan tools show window regulator errors, it often points to either electrical connection problems or a failing window motor. In my case, corrosion on the electrical connectors was causing intermittent window operation. The mechanic cleaned the connections and performed the reset procedure. This resolved the issue without needing to replace the window motor. Would suggest having a qualified technician inspect the electrical connections before assuming window motor replacement is needed. These symptoms dont always indicate serious mechanical issues.
