Thanks for sharing your experience with the spark plug and fuel injector issues. My Taos had almost identical symptoms last month, turns out it was also misfiring due to a bad ignition coil. Just wondering how much the repair ended up costing you? And has everything been running smoothly since the fix? My repair shop also recommended replacing the timing belt while they were in there, but I held off since it seemed early for that service. Let me know if you had any other issues pop up afterward. These VW engines can be tricky to diagnose sometimes.

After getting my Tiguan fixed, the engine has been running perfectly smooth with no more rough idle or misfires. The repair costs came to 265€ total, which covered fixing a small exhaust leak they discovered during the diagnostic. Money well spent since the uneven engine running completely disappeared. Running much better than when I first noticed the jerking under acceleration. My mechanic checked the oxygen sensor and ignition coils while doing the work, but those components were still in good shape. Just that exhaust leak causing all the trouble. I agree about holding off on the timing belt, unless there are clear signs of wear, it seems premature with your mileage. The key was catching the issue early before it could cause more extensive engine damage. These modern engines are sensitive to even small issues with the exhaust system.

Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to share how my repair experience turned out. Took the car to a different certified VW shop and got much better service than my usual place. The fuel injectors needed a thorough cleaning and one spark plug was completely shot, causing the misfire. The total repair came to 320€ including parts and labor. They had it done in about 3 hours. The mechanic showed me the old spark plug which was badly worn and explained how it was affecting the engine performance. The car runs perfectly now, no more jerking or rough idle issues. The engine feels much smoother during acceleration and the check engine light is off. Really glad I caught it early before it could damage other components. They did a full inspection and confirmed the timing belt is still in great condition, so no need for early replacement. Just regular maintenance from here on out to prevent future issues.
