Latest service was performed at 108000km. After trying your suggestions, I checked the fuse box first, all fuses related to central locking and car alarm are intact. When pressing the key fob, there is absolutely no clicking sound from any door. All doors are affected equally, and the car alarm does not activate either. Called my regular mechanic who mentioned the body control module might need replacement, but wanted to get some more opinions here before committing to such an expensive repair. The diagnostic test showed error code B128F related to the central locking system. Would replacing the body control module really be necessary, or could this still be resolved with a simpler fix like rewiring? Pretty concerned about repair costs if it needs the full module replacement.

Since I dealt with similar symptoms on my Tiguan, I think youre dealing with something more severe than my wiring issue, especially since there are no clicking sounds at all and the car alarm is completely unresponsive. The error code B128F coupled with complete system failure across all doors strongly points to a body control module problem. While I initially hoped it was just wiring like in my case, your symptoms are more extensive than what I experienced, I at least had some clicking noises when using the key fob. In your case, since: All doors are completely unresponsive, No response from car alarm system, No clicking sounds when using keyless entry, Multiple systems affected simultaneously The body control module is likely the culprit. While its costlier than rewiring, trying cheaper fixes first might waste money if the module needs replacement anyway. Most VW body control modules run between 400-800€ plus programming costs. For peace of mind, ask your mechanic to: Run a full diagnostic on the central locking system, Test power supply to the body control module, Check ground connections, Verify key fob signal reception This way youll be certain about the module replacement before proceeding.

Thanks for all the input. After getting this feedback and doing more research, I think I will proceed with the body control module replacement. The symptoms match exactly what others have described, and it explains why multiple systems are affected at once. I checked all the connections and wiring as suggested, but everything looks intact. The security system being completely dead along with the door locks really does point to the module being the core issue. Going to schedule the repair next week. Will update once its fixed in case anyone else runs into similar problems with their central locking system. Just hoping the final cost stays within that 400-800€ range mentioned for the module. At least now I know what to expect and that attempting cheaper fixes first would likely be throwing money away. The comprehensive troubleshooting steps helped confirm this isnt just a simple key fob or wiring issue. Better to fix it properly the first time, even if its more expensive.

I had a very similar issue with my 2016 VW Tiguan. Having some experience with central locking problems, I can share what worked in my case. The main issue turned out to be a faulty wiring connection between the door lock module and the central locking system. The key fob was fine, but the signal wasnt reaching the door locks. After checking the fuse box and finding no blown fuses, my mechanic discovered damaged cables near the door hinges. The repair involved: Testing the door lock actuators, Inspecting all cable connections, Replacing a damaged wiring harness, Resetting the car alarm system Total cost was 95€ for parts and labor. The fix took about 2 hours and has worked perfectly since then. Before suggesting specific solutions, could you share: Have you checked the fuse box for any blown fuses? Does the car alarm still work normally? Can you hear any clicking sounds when pressing the key fob? Are all doors affected or just some? This would help narrow down if youre dealing with the same wiring issue I had or if its something else in the central locking system.
