Thanks for sharing your experience with the Arteon. It helped me understand what could be wrong with my Touareg. Quick update: I took it to a different mechanic who found the original shop used the wrong oil filter and it wasnt properly tightened. They also detected low oil pressure due to a partially clogged pickup tube. Thankfully caught it before serious engine damage occurred. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much the repair ended up costing you? Also curious if you had any related issues pop up after getting it fixed? My Touareg seems to be running fine now but want to stay alert for potential problems with oil pressure or engine oil circulation.

Thanks for the follow-up about your Touareg. Glad to hear you caught the oil pressure issue early before it caused major engine damage. In my case with the Arteon, the total repair came to 165€ which covered cleaning the oil pickup tube and addressing the maintenance interval that had been exceeded. Since getting it properly fixed, the oil contamination issue was completely resolved and I have not experienced any warning lights or oil pressure problems. My advice would be to: Keep monitoring oil levels weekly, Watch for any metal particles during future oil changes, Stay on top of scheduled maintenance intervals, Have oil pressure tested during routine services The engine has been running smoothly for over 30000km now with no oil-related issues. Getting it fixed by a qualified shop made all the difference. Just make sure to document everything in case warranty coverage is needed later.

After getting your advice, I had my Touareg fixed at a reputable shop. The total repair came to 210€ which included cleaning the pickup tube, new oil filter, and fresh oil change. Much cheaper than risking engine damage. The mechanic showed me how the wrong oil filter caused reduced oil pressure. They also found some oil contamination from metal particles, but nothing severe enough to require additional repairs. The oil color looked normal after the fresh change. Since the repair three weeks ago, no more warning lights have appeared. Engine runs smooth and oil pressure is stable. Really glad I caught this early, lesson learned about choosing the right shop for oil changes. Will definitely stick with this new mechanic going forward. Going to keep checking the oil level weekly just to be safe, but feeling confident the issue is resolved. Thanks again for helping identify the potential causes.

Having dealt with similar symptoms on my 2017 VW Arteon with the 2.0 TSI engine, this could indicate several serious issues related to oil pressure. After an oil change service, warning lights appeared similar to your situation. The issue turned out to be an incorrectly installed oil filter and incorrect oil viscosity. Poor oil pressure can quickly lead to severe engine damage if not addressed immediately. Key points to check: Verify the correct oil specification was used, Check if oil filter was properly installed, Confirm oil level with dipstick while engine is cold, Listen for unusual engine noise, particularly ticking sounds This requires immediate attention. My case resulted in metal particles in the oil from brief low pressure operation. The repair required removing the oil pan, cleaning the pickup tube, and installing new oil pressure sensors. These symptoms should not occur after a routine oil change. When experiencing oil pressure warnings, stop driving and have the vehicle towed to prevent catastrophic engine damage. Consider having another shop inspect the work, as improper oil change procedures can compromise engine longevity.
