Thanks for sharing your Polo experience, sounds exactly like what my Up is doing now! I also have the same no-start condition with an error message. My wiring harness looks a bit worn too, so I wonder if thats contributing to the problem. Did you remember roughly how much the whole repair ended up costing? And has everything been working properly since the fix? Just trying to get an idea of what Im potentially looking at cost-wise before heading to the shop.

Hey! I took my Up to the mechanic last week and got everything sorted. The Terminal 15 ignition positive issue has been completely fixed. Turned out the problem was way simpler than my Polo experience, just a loose connection in the wiring harness near the ignition switch. The total repair came to 95€, which covered fixing the cable connection. Much cheaper than I initially feared, especially compared to the starter solenoid replacement my Polo needed. The car starts perfectly now, with no error codes showing up. The voltage drop test they ran after the repair showed all electrical connections are working as they should. If your symptoms are similar, definitely worth getting it checked, these electrical gremlins usually start small but can develop into bigger issues if left unchecked. The mechanic also checked the battery terminal connections and fuse box while they were at it, but those were all fine in your case. Sometimes the simplest fix is the right one.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Finally got my Up fixed yesterday. Was dreading another hefty repair bill but got lucky. The mechanic found a bad connection where the wiring harness meets the starter solenoid. Some wires had worked loose over time causing the intermittent starting problem. The repair only took about an hour and cost 85€ for labor. They cleaned the battery terminals while checking everything too. Car starts perfectly now and no more error codes on the display. Really glad I asked here first, helped me understand what I was dealing with before going to the shop. Much better outcome than my previous repair experiences. The car wont start issue is completely resolved now.

I had a similar issue with my 2014 VW Polo 1.2 TSI. The symptoms matched exactly, no start condition with an error code related to ignition circuit interruption. The root cause was a combination of corroded battery terminals and a failing starter solenoid. A voltage drop test confirmed the electrical connection was compromised. After cleaning the battery terminals, the problem persisted, which led to discovering the faulty starter solenoid. The repair required: Cleaning and securing all battery terminal connections, Replacing the starter solenoid, Testing the relay switch functionality, Checking all fuse box connections This was a serious issue that required immediate attention since it affected the complete starting circuit. The problem would have eventually left the car completely unable to start. Based on your description, start with inspecting the battery terminals and fuse box connections. If those check out fine, have a professional test the starter solenoid and relay switch components. These electrical issues often cascade, starting from simple connection problems and developing into component failures.
