Warning light in the 2014 Ford Ranger stays on: Presumably low brake fluid level

Hey guys! I have a problem with my 2014 Ford Ranger (almost 105204 km down, gasoline engine). The warning light in the speedometer no longer goes out and I suspect that the brake fluid level may be too low. However, I had a really bad experience at the mechanic last time and am therefore a bit unsure. Have you had any experience with similar problems? How did it go for you in the workshop? I'm grateful for any tips!

Hey, I have a 2011 Ford Mustang and I had exactly the same problem as you. The warning light just wouldn't go out and I was also unsure whether it was due to the brake fluid level. I also went to the garage. In my case it was a leak in the brake system and they had to take the whole system apart and reassemble it. It was a pretty serious matter, as brakes are really important. I'm glad I noticed it in time before it could have caused an accident. I can only advise you to go to the garage and have it checked. It could well be that you have something similar. You really shouldn't hesitate with something like this. Hope this helps you!

Hey, thanks for the tip! Pretty powerful stuff that you noticed that in time, sounds really serious. Can you remember roughly how much it cost you to get it all fixed? Did anything else similar or unforeseen come up afterward?

Hey, yes, that really wasn't fun! The repair of the leak in the brake system cost me just under €405. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but to be honest, my safety and that of my car are worth it. Since then, the warning light has not come on again and the brake fluid level is at the level it should be. So after the mechanic visit, the low brake fluid level was fixed. Nothing similar or unforeseen has happened since then. So I would say it was worth it and I can only recommend that you have it done. Safety first, right?

Wow, 405€... Well, safety first of course and it's better to be careful than to regret something later. I think I'd better go to the garage and have everything checked. After all, I don't want to take any unnecessary risks. Thanks for the advice and for sharing your experience. Really helpful! Well then, I'll get back to you when I have news about my car. See you then and take good care of yourself!
