Warning light in the speedometer of a 2009 Opel Antara: Looking for tips and mechanic recommendations

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2009 Opel Antara (gasoline, 169251 km run). There is a warning light on the speedometer and I think it has something to do with the system readiness check, which has not been completed. Unfortunately had a bad experience at the mechanic recently, so I'm asking here first. Have any of you ever had similar problems and can perhaps give me a tip on what I should do or recommend a good mechanic? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I once had a similar problem with my 2006 Opel Vectra. There was also a warning light on and the error message indicated a problem with the power supply. It turned out that the battery had recently been disconnected and the car needed some time to recalibrate. In my case, it was enough to drive the car for a while and then simply clear the error message. It was nothing serious, the car is running fine again. Hope this helps you. Good luck! Best regards.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! That's interesting, maybe it's the same with my Antara. And the great thing is that I can fix it myself, without a mechanic. Can you remember what you paid to have it fixed, if you had it done? And have you had similar problems since, or was it a one-off? Thanks again, you've really helped me out! Greetings back!

Hey, I'm glad my information was helpful! I actually had to take my Vectra to the garage once, but it was for something else. I remember it was the battery, which had recently been replaced. I paid 90 euros for it. But that was the end of it and I haven't had any more problems since. And hey, rejoice, your system readiness check was completed after my mechanic visit, so it wasn't the problem any more. So don't worry, I'm sure you'll get it sorted! Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the detailed information and the encouraging words! It really doesn't sound as bad as I feared at first. I'm a bit reassured now and will keep a close eye on the system readiness check and see if the problem resolves itself like it did for you. If not, I now know that a battery change could help, and it shouldn't be too expensive. The main thing is that the warning light is no longer illuminated! Thanks again for sharing your experience with me! See you then and best regards again!
