Warning lights and DPF regeneration problems with the Kangoo Diesel (2018): Experiences and costs?

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Kangoo Diesel (2018), already has 51557 km down. The warning light in the speedometer is on, and the check engine light is also on. Then I also have this DPF regeneration problem. My guess is 'Ad-Blue system pressure too low'. Do any of you have experience of similar problems and how much did it cost your mechanic? My last visit to the garage was not a pleasant experience. Looking forward to your answers. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I completely understand your situation, had a similar experience with my Clio Diesel (2015). It had just under 50,000 km on it when I had that crazy warning light and DPF issue. And yes, it turned out to actually be a problem with the Ad-Blue system pressure, just as you suspected. I remember my last garage visit very well. It was a serious problem, yes. They had to replace some parts of the ad-blue system because the pump and some other stuff was damaged. And it wasn't just a replacement, it was quite a mess because they had to check and clean filters and various sensors. Despite all that, my car ran like a dream again afterwards. And yes, a mechanic visit like that is never pleasant, but it was necessary. Get it checked sooner rather than later. Keep your fingers crossed that it won't be that serious for you.

Hello, thank you for your detailed reply. It sounds pretty tough what your car has been through. How deep did you have to dig into your pockets for the whole operation? And have you had any other problems since then or has everything been running smoothly since then? I'd be really interested to know, as I really don't fancy having to go to the garage all the time. Best regards!

Hello, it was a pretty hefty bill, I can tell you. It cost me €1620 to repair the defective Ad-Blue tank. That was a big gulp from the tank, but since then the car has been running like clockwork. Since the mechanic fixed the problem with the Ad-Blue system pressure being too low, I've had nothing to complain about. Man, I was really worried about getting problems again after that, but luckily everything stayed calm. So, at least in this respect, the workshop visit is really worthwhile, even if it costs a lot of money. Greetings back!

Hello, I'm still lucky in misfortune. Your bill would have really ruined my day. But thanks for your frank words, that really helped me. I probably won't be able to avoid going to the workshop. I was just hoping it would be a minor repair. But well, treating it is better than ignoring it and then it breaks down completely. After all, our cars deserve some time off, right? Greetings and thanks again!
