Hey, thanks for the reply! That sounds exactly like my situation, so it will probably be the battery. Can you remember how expensive it was for you to have it replaced and the charging system checked? Has anything else come up since then? Best regards!

Hey, yes, I can still remember that. It wasn't cheap, let me tell you. I paid a total of €600 to repair the defective control unit. But since the mechanic was on it, everything has been running perfectly again and the battery no longer discharges by itself. It was probably a good investment to avoid further problems. So far, nothing else has come to light. Everything is in perfect order. Best regards!

Wow, 600€ is a lot, but if it fixes the problem and there are no more problems afterwards, then I think it's worth it. I will go to a reliable mechanic and have my VW Golf checked. I hope something like last time doesn't happen to me again. Thanks for your advice and experience. Have a good day and take care!

Hello everyone, I count a battery as a locking part which simply has to be replaced after a certain time. 600 euros for a battery with installation is a lot of money. Normally you can replace such a battery yourself relatively quickly. However, with many new vehicles, the battery still has to be taught to the vehicle, so don't forget that!

Hi, I recently had a similar problem with my 2018 VW Passat. When starting, the starter motor hesitated and the lights were dim. The garage confirmed it was the battery and it needed replacing. It was no small matter as my battery was constantly draining due to a fault in the charging system. You might want to take your car to a reliable mechanic. In my case anyway, it was necessary to check the charging system at the same time. Greetings!
