Weak Cayenne Startup? Battery Mystery

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know. I was worried it might be something more complicated than just the eCall battery. Quick question, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole fix? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other electrical quirks pop up? My Cayenne's still pretty low mileage, but I definitely want to get this sorted before it causes any bigger issues. Cheers!

Hey again! Yeah, I'm happy to share the costs, I just got this fixed last week actually. The whole thing came to 110 Euro at the Porsche workshop. Looking back, it was totally worth it because the car's running like a dream now! That annoying "Emergency call system battery empty" warning is completely gone, and all the electrical issues have cleared up. The best part is the electrical system is working perfectly now, no more flickering lights or struggling starts. Since you've got a Cayenne with such low mileage, getting this sorted quickly is definitely the right move. It's not the kind of thing you want to leave too long, you know? I can tell you from experience, once they fix that eCall battery and recalibrate everything, it's like having a different car. Much better than dealing with those nerve-wracking electrical gremlins! Let me know how it goes when you get yours sorted. Take care!

Hey! Just wanted to update you, I took your advice and got my Cayenne fixed yesterday! You were totally right about going to a Porsche workshop. Got both batteries replaced, and the whole thing cost me about 130 Euro, not too bad considering what I was worried it might be! The mechanic was actually really cool this time. He showed me exactly what was wrong with the old eCall battery and explained how it was affecting everything else. Much better experience than my last mechanic visit! The difference is like night and day, no more flickering lights, and she starts up perfectly now. You weren't kidding about it feeling like a different car! Really glad I didn't put this off any longer. Thanks again for all your help. Sometimes it just takes someone who's been through the same thing to point you in the right direction! Cheers!

Hey there, I had very similar issues with my 2023 Porsche Cayenne last winter. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, weak starts and dimming lights. Initially thought it was just the main battery, but it turned out the emergency call (eCall) battery was completely dead and needed replacement. I took mine to a certified Porsche workshop since it's connected to various electrical systems. The fix wasn't just a simple battery swap, they had to recalibrate the whole eCall system afterward. It was a serious job because a dead eCall battery can affect other electrical components and safety systems. In my case, they also found the main battery was stressed from compensating for the dead eCall unit. Got both replaced and haven't had any issues since. I'd recommend getting it checked soon to avoid any potential damage to other electrical components.
