Weakening battery and flickering lights on Toyota GT86

Hello everyone, I need your advice. I'm currently having a few problems with my 2017 Toyota GT86 with a petrol engine and 165,052 km mileage. When starting, the battery weakens and the lights flicker or are dim. I suspect it could be undervoltage in the vehicle. Have any of you had similar experiences? If so, how did you get it fixed at the garage? I had a pretty bad experience there last time and don't want to be disappointed again. Thanks in advance for your help!

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Toyota GT86 is experiencing a weakening battery and flickering lights, suspected to be due to undervoltage. A similar issue was resolved in a Toyota Auris by replacing the faulty battery, which fixed the low voltage problem. The suggested solution is to visit a garage for a battery check and potential replacement to prevent further issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I can well understand your situation. I had a similar problem with my 2014 Toyota Auris. The battery was flat and the lights flickered. It was then discovered at the garage that it was faulty and needed to be replaced. It wasn't a big deal, so no need to panic. But of course you shouldn't put it off for too long to avoid consequential damage. So my advice is to simply go to the garage and have it checked. Hope that helps you!

Hi there, it sounds like you've had a similar experience to the one I'm having now with my GT86. Do you remember roughly what you paid for the repair at the garage back then? And have there been any further problems or is your Auris now running smoothly again? Thanks for your help!

Moin Moin, yooo, it really was a similar thing with my Auris. At the time, I spent €290 at the garage to have the battery fixed. It was a bit annoying, but the car has been running like a charm ever since. The problem with the low voltage in the vehicle was also fixed straight away. So everything is great now, no further problems. Hope that helps you! Bro, don't panic, everything will be fine!

Hey, thanks for your quick and helpful reply! 290€ doesn't actually sound as bad as I had imagined. The main thing is that everything runs smoothly again afterwards. I'll probably go to the garage and hope for the best. Really cool that you helped me, Bro! It's always good to know that you're not alone. Now I know what to expect. See you then and thanks again for your help!
