Wind electronic parking brake failure

My 2013 Renault Wind, gasoline engine, has an electronic parking brake that's totally kaput. The handbrake doesn't work at all, and I've got a warning light. Plugged it into a reader, and it's throwing an error. Anyone seen this before? I'm guessing it might be the electric motor in the brake calliper that's gone bad...

I had a similar issue with my Wind. The electronic parking brake can be a tricky system. The error code you're getting – does it point specifically to the brake caliper motor? Or is it a more general 'brake control' fault? Sometimes a simple brake switch malfunction can trigger similar symptoms, though it's less common.

Good point! I thought about the brake switch, but the error seems pretty specific, mentioning the motor. I will double-check the exact wording when I plug it in again. Could you please elaborate? Did you have the same symptoms?

Yes, my symptoms were identical: complete failure of the electronic parking brake, the warning light, and an error code indicating a problem with the motor itself. Given what you've described, and based on my experience, it's highly probable that the electric motor in the brake calliper is indeed the culprit. At this point, I would recommend consulting a qualified mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair. The error memory needs to be looked at and the defective part will need to be replaced.

Thanks for the advice! I suspected as much, but it's good to hear from someone who's been there. Looks like a trip to the workshop is in order. I appreciate the confirmation!
