Windstar Engine Overheating Air Flap Issue

My 2003 Ford Windstar with a gasoline engine has the check engine light on and is overheating. A diagnostic scan indicated a fault in the active air flap system. Any details?

I had a similar problem with my Windstar, though I didn't have engine overheating. Do you know the specific fault code that came up during the diagnostic scan?

I don't have the specific fault code right now. Could this be linked to the car overheating?

Yes, it very well could be linked to overheating. If the active air flaps aren't working right, they could be restricting airflow to the radiator. Take it to a qualified workshop for a proper inspection and repair, as the electromechanism might be defective.

I took it to the workshop as you suggested, and the electromechanism was indeed defective. The repair cost 590€. Thanks again!
