Windstar Engine Start Problem

Thanks for the advice. No, the engine light does not come on when I try to start the car. What exactly did you find when you had this problem?

In my case, the corroded connection caused a voltage drop that prevented the ECU from initializing properly, thus no engine light. Given that your symptoms match mine, I would carefully check voltage when attempting to start. Ultimately, I needed to replace a terminal. I would suggest taking it to a trusted workshop for testing.

Thank you. I took it to the workshop. The battery cable connections were indeed not good, as I suspected. They charged me 155€ to repair it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I also have a Windstar. I experienced a similar issue. Have you checked for corrosion? Even if the connections appear tight, corrosion can severely impact conductivity. A simple visual inspection isn't always enough; try disconnecting, cleaning them thoroughly with a wire brush, and then re-tightening. Is the engine light on when you try to start the car?
