Windstar stalling at idle

My 2000 Ford Windstar with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The check engine light is on, and it keeps stalling at idle. Also, I swear it's lost some power. I suspect it might be the rail pressure sensor signal, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone else experienced this?

I have a Windstar, and your issue sounds awfully familiar. If it is the rail pressure sensor, it's a pain. Was it throwing any specific codes, or did you already check the sensor itself? In my case, the stalling was pretty consistent, especially when the engine was warm.

It's throwing a code related to the rail pressure sensor signal being faulty, but the sensor seems to test okay with a multimeter. What exactly was the problem when you had the stalling issue? Same error code?

Yes, it was the same error code. I tried everything myself, but after a while, I gave up and took it to a workshop. They confirmed that the sensor was defective and replaced it. It was a relief to have it fixed. Now, it runs smoothly again.

Seems like my next step is definitely the workshop. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, I will post about the solution. The repair should cost around 240€.
