Windstar temperature gauge issues

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2002 Ford Windstar with a gasoline engine. It’s got about 143000 km on it. Lately, the temperature gauge has been acting up, showing all sorts of crazy readings. Plus, the check engine light keeps popping on. And get this – the engine seems to take forever to warm up, especially in the mornings. I checked the radiator and it looks like the cooling grille (that's the part in front of the radiator, right?) might be blocked. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I had a similar problem with my Ford Windstar. The symptoms you describe suggest a potential issue with the engine cooling system. Before delving deeper, it would be prudent to examine the fuses associated with the cooling fan and temperature sensors. A defective fuse can cause erratic temperature readings and trigger the check engine light.

Thanks! Where exactly can I find the fuses for the cooling fan and sensors? And if the fuse is the issue, how would that cause the engine to take so long to warm up?

The fuse box is typically located either under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual for the precise location of the relevant fuses. Regarding the extended warm-up time, a blown fuse can disrupt the operation of the engine's temperature regulation system, leading to inefficient heating. I would recommend a visit to a qualified workshop.

You were right! I took it to the mechanic, and it turned out to be a blown fuse linked to the cooling grille. It cost me 52€ to get it sorted. Thanks a lot for the tip!
