Windstar Throttle Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Ford Windstar is experiencing throttle valve issues, indicated by reduced engine power and a check engine light. The suspected causes include a faulty accelerator pedal module or electronic issues. A suggestion to use a diagnostic tool led to the confirmation that the accelerator pedal module was indeed the problem, which was resolved by replacing the module.

Air intake is clean, no visible leaks. Throttle sensor readings seem off, but not completely erratic. That Opel Astra...did it also throw a code related to the throttle?

Yep, pretty much the same deal. Drove me nuts for a bit. I'd suggest getting it hooked up to a proper diagnostic tool at a workshop. Might save you a ton of guesswork.

Good call. Took it to the shop. Turns out it was the accelerator pedal module as I suspected. Replacement cost me 265€. Thanks for the advice.

Reduced engine power and a check engine light, eh? Sounds familiar. Had something similar happen with my old Opel Astra. Could a faulty throttle sensor be the culprit? Did you check air intake for any blockage or leaks?
