Wingroad anti theft system malfunction

I'm having trouble with the anti-theft system in my 2002 Nissan Wingroad with a gasoline engine. It's got about 79352 km on it. Scans show an error in the memory, and the alarm isn't working. I think it might be coded to activate optical locking. Any ideas?

Optical locking, huh? I had a similar problem with my Wingroad. First, check your battery and connections. A sudden power loss can mess with the alarm control module. Does it happen after the car's been sitting, or is it random?

Thanks. It seems to be random, not related to how long the car sits. Could a weak battery really cause such a specific issue, or could it be a faulty alarm sensor?

Random issues are the worst! Yes, low battery voltage can definitely cause weird anti-theft issues. The system gets unstable when the power isn't consistent. But if it keeps happening after you check the battery, you might need to visit a workshop. They should be able to fix it by recoding the system. Cost me 45€ back then.

Thanks for the battery info. Your experience makes me think a workshop visit is needed. I went to the workshop, and they had to recode the alarm system. The final bill was 45€. Thanks for the help.
