Wingroad DPF Issue

Having trouble with my 2011 Nissan Wingroad diesel. It's got about 107,000 km on it. Recently noticed a significant reduction in engine power, and there's quite a bit of smoke when I accelerate. I suspect it might be the diesel particulate filter (DPF). Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Sounds like your DPF is clogged. I had almost exactly the same symptoms with my Wingroad – loss of power and clouds of smoke. Does the engine light come on? If it does, it's almost definitely your DPF telling you something's up. It's a pain!

Yes, the engine light is on. Did you try forcing a DPF regeneration, or was it beyond that point already? And about how much did the filter replacement end up costing you?

Regeneration didn't do anything for me. The garage said it was too far gone. Just take it to a workshop. They'll plug it in, confirm it's the DPF, and give you a quote for a new one. It's not cheap, but driving around like that will only cause more damage. Trust me, I learned the hard way!

I took it to a shop, and you were spot on – defective DPF! The repair cost is going to be around 1550€ for filter replacement. Sucks, but at least I know what the problem is and can get it sorted.
