Wingroad Electrical Fault

I'm having electrical issues with my 2001 Nissan Wingroad diesel, about 184,000 km on it. Diagnostics show an error, general electrical malfunction, and the navigation is dead. The garage thinks the control unit programming is implausible, quoting 240€ to fix it. Anyone else had similar control unit or ECU problems?

I had a similar issue with my Wingroad. Same symptoms: error codes, electrical stuff going haywire, and the sat nav failing. Did you try a software reset? It sometimes clears things, but it was only a temporary fix for me.

Thanks! When you say software reset, do you mean disconnecting the battery, or something else? Was the control unit the root cause?

I tried disconnecting the battery first, but it didn't permanently solve it. It sounds like your control unit is the problem. I had to take mine to a workshop for diagnosis and reprogramming. Don't mess with it yourself, you could brick it.

Thanks for confirming. Sounds like I'm going to the workshop. Hopefully, the repair cost won't exceed the quote. I appreciate the help!
