Wingroad Jerking Acceleration

Having trouble with my 2009 Nissan Wingroad diesel. About 204,595 km on it. Jerking when accelerating, and the check engine light keeps popping on. Error stored. Also noticed a drop in engine power, and sometimes it even stalls at idle. The engine runs rough, and there's a strong exhaust smell. Vacuum leak in the intake manifold or maybe a faulty manifold sensor?

Summary of the thread

A 2009 Nissan Wingroad is experiencing jerking during acceleration, a check engine light, reduced engine power, stalling at idle, rough running, and a strong exhaust smell. These issues may be caused by a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or a faulty manifold sensor. A similar case was resolved by replacing a defective intake manifold, which was confirmed by a professional workshop. It is suggested to have the vehicle professionally inspected and potentially replace the intake manifold to resolve the issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had similar issues with my Wingroad not too long ago. Did you check the air intake for any leaks or damage? The symptoms you're describing sound a lot like what I experienced. Was the error code related to the air intake or fuel mixture by any chance?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked for leaks in the air intake, but I'll take a closer look. The error code pointed towards the intake manifold. Could you elaborate on what exactly you found with your Wingroad?

Right, intake manifold error code... Yeah, mine turned out to be a defective intake manifold. It was leaking due to scorching. Best get it checked professionally. I ended up going to a workshop. They confirmed the issue and replaced the manifold. It wasn't cheap, but it sorted out all the problems.

Thanks a lot for the info! That's really helpful. I'll take it to a workshop to get it checked out. Seems like it's the intake manifold. They quoted me around 1180€ for the repair, but hopefully, it'll fix everything.
