Winner diesel smoke and warning light
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Nissan Winner diesel is experiencing a warning light on the speedometer, smoke during acceleration, and a failure of the DPF to regenerate. These issues may be caused by a defective exhaust back pressure sensor, as indicated by error codes. Replacing the sensor is suggested as a solution, with a recommendation to consult a mechanic for the repair.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did scan the codes, and it points towards the exhaust back pressure sensor. The smoke appeared around the same time as the warning light, maybe slightly after. Was it an easy fix for you?

Okay, if the codes confirm it, it's almost certainly the sensor. I wouldn't call it an easy fix myself. I took mine to a workshop. The cost was around 245€. You might want to get a quote from your local mechanic.

Thanks! I appreciate the confirmation. I'll take it to my local mechanic ASAP for a check-up and replacement. Hopefully, that will sort out all the issues. Cheers!

I own a Winner as well. Those symptoms sound awfully familiar. Have you scanned the error codes? It's very likely the exhaust back pressure sensor. That's what happened with mine. Did the smoke start before or after the warning light?
